Real Life Experiences...
Jackie suffered on and off from depression
for her whole life. She was bright and creative, a gentle soul.
She had an opportunity to start a dream job with a company she
always wanted to work for and yet she felt discouraged and unmotivated.
She wondered if she should turn the job down. After only one session
she was able to throw herself into her new position with enthusiasm.
Last I heard she was doing very well and up for a promotion.

Greta had been taken away from her mother
to live with her father’s family when she was six, and never
saw her mother again. Her father and grandparents were hostile,
unkind people so she left home as soon as she could. When she
went to look for her mother she found that she had died. Her mother
had been the only person who had been a true parent to her, yet
she could not grieve. She felt that this loss interfered with
her ability to have close relationships of any kind. We worked
together for several sessions. Greta tells me gratefully that
her whole life has changed, especially her relationship with her
children. She has begun dating again and is really enjoying relating
to men, for the first time in her life.
